Tackling this blogging business.

Hello. My name is Alexandra. I'm 17 years old, and wish i was older already. My brain seems to function at a higher age level then im at now, so im usually misunderstood, and think about things in a much different perspective from most people my age. So i don't have many friends.

I love nature, art, music, gothic fashion, and alice in wonderland.

At the moment i am struggling though life, but ill move on and get better. All you need is love. Right?

I also love talking to people. So feel free to ask/message me anything.

Enjoy.

I originally created this blog for a Music technology class in school. But now im going ot try taking blogging seriously and maybe making a few friends on here. Or making a name for myself.

So, until i find somthing nice to post- Nice to meet you ;]

Chord Progession

This piece didn't take me anywhere near as long as any of the other ones. i actually had an idea for a chord progression at first, and it sounded alot like it could be from the game "Okami". It was very Japanese sounding. But, once i read the instructions for the project, i realized that my chords were not 1, 4, and 5 chords.

So i went out on an adventure to change the chords :/

But first ill tell you how i made the song. First, i had a c chord, and i was looking and looking and looking to find a nice sound, and then i found the Metal Harp sound, and i thought it sounded very Japanese, and that was when i decided to make an Okami-like song. I found mallets for the arpeggios, and a cool droplet sound for the back round (i put random beats for the droplets to make it sound authentic).

then i realized that i had to change it... so all i really did was change a few notes, and moved the chords put a few notes, and DOODEDOO!! i had my chord progression.

At the end of the song i kept the original chords to make an ending that kinda makes you go "wait, what?"

All i did after that was add a drum loop to make it seem less lullaby-y and then it was done :)

Hope you like it :3

Sytrus

Now for my next project: The Sytrus.

This song, like most of my others, is inspired by the soundtrack to the ".Hack//" PS2 games. The music in those games is very electronic, and i swear to god the same drum line i used was in a boss battle in that game :).

So first i started out just making my sounds. I stared with the Default sytrus sound, an annoying beep that could probably kill anyone if they listened to it for too long. Then to make my first sound i changed the shape of the wave to a saw/square wave. I turned the skew up the tiniest little bit. Then i went to the FX tab, and turned on delay. then i changed the chorus to 5. After turning on the correct volume buttons, i had my first sound :D. This is the sound that arpeggiates throughout the whole song.

To make my next sound, I tuned up the skew a hair, and turned the Pre-Filter all the way down. Then i created a volume envelope and made the sound kinda wavey. It gets louder then softer throughout the beat. There were go effects used, just the above changes. This creates the melody underneath the arpeggio.

After i made my sounds, i created at melody for my first syth, and i really liked the arpeggio sound, so ,i used it. I had trouble thinking of a melody (like i always do), so i just played the arpeggios over and over and over again playing with the keyboard untul i came up with this little melody and i thought it fit perfectly.

Then i found this drum loop, and i really LOVE it. I didnt realize till just now that i used in my one of my other projects too... After the drum loop was put in i just added kick drum on the beats, to emphasize the bass more.

And thats my sytrus project. :)

Hope you enjoy it :D

Automation Project

Here is my next project, the automation clip :)

This one took me quite a bit of time, and it gave me alot of problems too :/ i started with the idea in my head that this was going to be kind of an eerie song, and so i looked for a pad for the background that would reflect what i wanted to make the piece feel like. I ended up finding the "Light Waves" Pad, and i decided it could sound kinda creepy with the right melody over it. over THAT, I found the "Oberheim Bass" sound and made the melody to go over the pad. I don;t know where I've head that melody before... but I've definitely heard it -_-' So i made that loop and added it and decided it needed drums, so i looked for a drum loop that would fit the pattern of my melody, and i looked and looked and looked (it took me a very long time) and i finally found "DL_AfterKill" and i liked it, but it didn't QUITE match the melody exactly, so i though "THAT'S WHAT EFFECTS ARE FOR!!! :D" SO i started with the pad, and put an automation for the Volume, and made it spike up and down very very VERY fast, and it sounded choppy and i liked it. Next i added the volume automation to the bass part, and then did the X-Y muffley thingy (i really don't know what its called) and recorded it, and it sounded WICKED COOL. NEXT i added delay to the percussion and i think it fits in to the rest of the piece nicely :) At the very end i made the layers just fade out, because it was time to finish it, and any other elaborate thing would just take WAYY too much time -_-'

(And i just realized how much i use weird faces in my posts >_>)

FX Loop

I had the most fun making this loop out of all the other projects so far, because it was challenging and it took me SO LONG.

First i used the Violin Ensemble sound and i played a G, G#,G to make the loop that repeats throughout the whole song. Then i added the Phaser effect to it.

Next i made the drum beat, and all i did for that was use the "DNC_kick_3" and put in a hit on the first, fourth, seventh, ninth, and thirteenth. Originally i had delay on the drum line, but it sounded too muddy and messy, so i took off the delay and left it as is.

Next i made a little melody with the 'Chorus moog_s' sound and added Delay to it.

NEXT... I was playing around with the sounds, and found that one note that just dingds and then fades out. (its called 'NOTE') SO i added that in every now and then (on a pattern of course) and at the VERY end for that last thing you hear i added Delay.

Then for the very last touch i added that high pitched ringing noise, it reminds me ofwhen my ears ring -_-'... but i like it. And i added the Reverb effect to it.

And there you are! My latest project.

Hope You Like It :)

ChopLoop 2.0 :)

Edit-

I thought i had it finish before, but then i changed the melody, with the help of Mr. Rabuse :D
-----

At the beginning of the project i was really really confused and had no idea what to do. So i started out by picking a random note, which was an F, and used the chop tool, and i had such a hard time finding one that i thought would sound good. So i looked, and looked, and looked, and finally found the Trance 2 Chop file, and i thought it sounded like a cool rock-y song :p. So next i used the boo bass for the bass line, and i entered another long F (but down an octave) and used the chop toll of course. I used the Trance 2 chop file for this as well.

After i entered the bass, i looked on the FPC channel and found the drum loop i used (im not sure which one it was but i think it was a dance one) which seemed to fit teh guitar and bass part really well, so i put it right in there.

Next it was time for the melody... which i wasnt able to do easily... At first i had a really kiddish meldoy, and used it, but decied it wasn't good enough, and it didnt really fit in with the rest of the project. So i asked for help, and Mr. Rabuse helped me come up wit hthe melody that i have now. I used the "FatAss" SimSynth sound for it.

Then i TRIED to make an ending... but it kinda failed -_-'

Hope you like it :D

Project 2: Bassline

When i found out that we were making a bass line i got excited :p. I'm a bass player, so this is always the part of the music i listen to most. I stared out making up my own riffs... but failed... miserably... so i decided to use the piano roll instead... and i got very very very picky :) I looked for all basslines that i would have fun playing on bass. With a darker feel (in a minor key), but not going overboard. I used all Rock/Metal drum loops in the background, to kind of go with the sound. And then i brought back the first loop in the end and added a holded note for the finish.

Hope you like it!
